Meeting of Ministers of Transport and Communications of three Baltic States in Tallinn
On 2-3 September 2007, Albertas Arūna, the director of Transport Investment Directorate, alongside with the delegation headed by the Minister of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Lithuania, took part at the 30^th Meeting of Ministers of Transport and Communications of three Baltic States held in Tallinn (Estonia) with participation of representatives of Poland. 
The delegations of Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, and Poland reviewed the development of the Rail Baltica Project, discussed guidelines of co-operation of the countries in the field of traffic security, and on issues of dialogue between the European Union and Russia.

Call for project descriptions for the EU assistance over the programming period 2007-2013
With the aim of an early start of the implementation of new projects for the development of public transport infrastructure funded by EU, on 6 August 2007, the Transport Investment Directorate launched call for submitting project descriptions for the assistance under a special EU structural budget programme 2007-2013 to be granted for contractors of projects in the transport sector. It is expected that applications will be submitted for examination within the months of August and September 2007.
